Parfum Radiant c1913

Parfum Radiant: created in 1913.

Fragrance Composition:

I have no published notes on this perfume, it was simply described as "heavy" in a 1921 newspaper ad. Other Caron perfumes considered "heavy" in that same ad were Narcisse Noir, Tabac Blonde, while some Caron perfumes were deemed "light" such as N'Aimez Que Moi, Isadora and L'Infini. Heavy perfumes of the period included oriental types with opulent florals, precious woods and warm spices.

Bottle:

Parfum Radiant was contained inside of a square shaped bottle, molded with a frosted stalactites or icicle pattern starting at the shoulders and continuing down the sides. It is fitted with a frosted rosette stopper, which features a embossed gold foil paper label.  The bottle was created by Julien Viard. I believe that the parfum was available in three different sizes. One bottle used for the parfum stands 7.87" tall.

The same bottle design was used for the Eau de Toilette, the base of the bottle is molded with "Eau de Toilette." Bottle stands 9.5" tall, I believe this held 4 oz.

Parfum Radiant was available in two sizes with retail prices of $8.00 and $12.50 in 1921.

Fate of the Fragrance:

Discontinued, date unknown. Still sold in 1937.
